When Kapunda was a thriving town in the 1890s, Mother Mary MacKillop tended the needs of a growing number of catholic schools in the area. To save the parish’s precious funds, she walked to where she was needed. Today, "Mary MacKillop Walk" marks the original path she travelled to attend mass at St John's Church.
